Green Day Bands And Gang Green Are Play In Jets' Opener

Are ready to play together to Gang Green and Green Day.

The New York Jets said the band will play during their regular season opener Sept. 13. At the New Meadowlands Stadium the Jets face the Baltimore Ravens in the Monday night game.

"Last ot the American Girls" to Green Day will perform with the Broadway cast of the Tony Award winning rock musical "American Idiot." The halftime show will finish with fireworks.

The guitarist Slash and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger will play during a tailgate concert outside the stadium. Scherzinger will sing the national anthem.

Lollapalooza Day 2 brings Green Day

In its second day, Lollapalooza, Chicago’s giant music fest, finally revved into high gear, by spoon with concerts, Phoenix, and Slightly Stoopid. But it was three aging punk rock acts that ended up stealing the spotlight AFI, Social Distortion and, of course, Green Day. These mind Lollapalooza's big three called early days, starting as a relatively small alt rock festival in the early ’90s, before ballooning into the massive multi day, multi stage event that has now completely taken over Chicago’s sprawling Grant Park. These were yesterday’s three defining acts, and oddly enough, their sets shared a number of similar traits shameless pandering to the crowd, some self indulgent nostalgia, overt political content, showy production values, and some transcendentally amazing moments.

The Band Also Known as A Fire Inside kicked off the retro punk festivities with an hour long performance of their classic mid ’90s hits and a bunch of tracks off their most current album, Crash Love. Their perform more current songs watching them, like new single “Medicate,” it’s fascinating to see how far they’ve come from their garage band beginnings; they’ve now fully immersed themselves in the glam-y “horror punk” aesthetic. Wiry frontman Davey Havok, dressed in black slacks and an untucked white Polo shirt, didn’t play an instrument, instead prancing around, pirouetting, and twirling the mic stand like a baton. The guy can rock. Just watching AFI perform there's a kinetic pleasure.

“Green Day” The Lancaster London hotel hosts

“Green Day” the Lancaster London is hosting its fifth annual on Tuesday 14 September to coincide with Organic Fortnight (3 – 17 September 2010).
The event aims to increase sentience of the hotel's green policies amongst guests, staff and suppliers. Staff are encouraged to learn more about the hotel's environmental policies and to gather information about how they can make improvements.
The hotel will be lit with green LED lighting, with green silk cascading from the top of the building; Island Restaurant & Bar will be introducing a menu of entirely sustainable and organic food, with the air miles listed for each dish and tasting stands will be set up in the lobby to allow guests to sample some organic and sustainable produce. In addition, a honey menu will be featured in Island with dishes made using the honey produced by the hotel's own bee hives and electric cars and scooters will be showcased in the forecourt.
The hotel offers two restaurants, the award winning Nipa and super chic Island Restaurant and 16 conference rooms which have the ability to cater for a variety of events, from small business meetings to large receptions for up to 3,000 people.

You have to hand it to the game developers at Harmonix -- they sure know how to keep a franchise moving.
The Rock Band latest iteration of is directly marketed to Green Day fans, and it tracks the journey of musicians Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dint and Tré Cool through the performances and songs that have made the band into a super pair.
As they did with Beatles: Rock Band, developers have identified the wants of Green Day fans and provided what is essentially a documentary on the band with a video game to please fans, of which there are many.
50 million albums the band has sold worldwide and played in some of the world's largest concert venues. There is even a smash hit Broadway musical based on the band's hits.
The game features 47 Green Day tracks -- if you don't like songs such as American Idiot and Welcome to Paradise, you're out of luck.
Behind the scenes photos, video and memorabilia provided by the band are waiting to be "unlocked" by players. The particular content shows band members pulling off different stunts over the years that will definitely amuse hardcore Green Day followers.
At its core, this is the Rock Band that millions already know. Game wise, there is little to differentiate it from previous franchise titles. Up to four players (despite the fact the band only has three members) can play the game, picking from their choice of guitar, bass, drums or vocals on the Rock Band microphone. Online play, allowing people to hook up with bandmates over the Internet, is possible.
If you already own Rock Band 2 and aren't actually into Green Day, then this may not be the game for you. If you are only interested in one or two Green Day tracks, then perhaps it's better to see if those can be downloaded on to versions of Rock Band that you already own.

Tony Awards the 2010 if you watched—and that’s a very big if, considering it was the night of the True Blood premiere and game 5 of the NBA finals—you likely saw a few strange things: Host Sean Hayes tonguing Kristin Chenoweth, Green Day playing a mini concert, and Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Catherine Zeta Jones making off with two of the four major acting awards. The Jay-Z factor: We wonder…did Fela! producer Jay-Z make some sort of no-cameras deal with the Tony people—like, I’ll be there, but don’t keep showing me in the audience? Seriously, we didn’t even know he was there until he and Beyoncé gave choreography winner Bill T. Jones a standing ovation. The press factor: This year, journalists—about 100 or so of them—were removed from the Tony voter list. So did that make a difference? A few weeks ago, at a luncheon at Sardi’s, a few journalists were talking Tonys, and were asked what effect, if any, we thought the press’ absence would have on this year’s awards. My answer: I thought it would take votes away from Fela! in the very tight Best Musical race.

If you own most of Green Day’s albums and perhaps have a poster or two of the band on your wall, Green Day: Rock Band is for you.
Otherwise, you should pass on this band-specific entry into the growing list of music games.
Green Day: Rock Band holds fast to the basic framework that has cemented Electronic Arts’ franchise as a slick, easy to pick up, enjoyable music experience.
For those who have never played a Rock Band game, players simulate a jam experience by playing plastic drums, guitars and microphones, hitting the right notes on beat to rack up a high score.
Developed by Harmonix and published by MTV Games, the game guides players through Green Day’s successful career as punk-rockers, picking up with their mainstream debut album, Dookie, released in 1994. The band’s Dookie days are captured in the game with a concert staged in a grimy warehouse venue.
Virtual doppelgangers — complete with tattoos and dyed hair — of singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool age as the career mode continues from the warehouse to the band’s concert at the 65,000-capacity National Bowl in Milton Keynes, England — which focuses on tracks from the American Idiot, Nimrod, Warning and Insomniac albums — to the final venue in the Fox Theater in Oakland, where the band plays songs from its newest album, 21st Century Breakdown.
The game includes 47 tracks from six of Green Day’s eight albums, including the entire Dookie and American Idiot recordings. Through the game, players unlock images and movies, including interview footage, outtakes and performances.
It’s a tour de force for diehard Green Day fans. However, music games such as Rock Band gain much of their momentum from a karaoke-like friendliness, with the most fun had playing in groups and at parties. Green Day’s appeal is just too narrow for a dedicated game.
When playing Green Day: Rock Band for a few hours with friends, it quickly becomes apparent that there are only a few Green Day songs everyone is comfortable with. The rest are relegated to solo play during the career mode.
Band-specific games are not easy to sell to a wide audience. They need more than just a concert experience and a few albums’ worth of songs — they need purpose. For example, The Beatles: Rock Band tapped into the boys from Liverpool’s rock-gods status to pull off a successful game in 2009. It truly felt like a tour through a rock ‘n’ roll museum, and the game served to introduce the band to a new audience.
That kind of reverence simply can’t be re-created in Green Day: Rock Band.
While the game itself is technically well-done, the band simply isn’t diverse enough instrumentally or vocally to generate much enthusiasm.

Green Day: Rock Band track list released

There are 47 tracks in all, spread across 3 separate venues; the Warehouse, which apes Green Day's early gigs in the Bay Area, a recreation of the Milton Keynes bowl gig featured on Bullet in a Bible and an intimate show at Oakland's Fox Theatre.
The track list includes the entirety of Dookie, American Idiot and the remainder of 21st Century Breakdown that hasn't already been released as DLC.
It also features Minority and Warning from Warning, Hitchin' a Ride, Good Riddance (Time of your Life) and Nice Guys Finish Last from Nimrod and Brain Stew, Jaded and Geek Stink Breath from Insomniac.

Greenday announce North American tour details

Green Day have announced details of a forthcoming tour of North America.
Beginning in New Jersey on August 3, the trio are playing in support of their latest album '21st Century Breakdown', which was released in May 2009.
Meanwhile, as the group's 'American Idiot' musical gears up to hit Broadway on April 20, reports are circulating that a film adaptation is in the works, with Tom Hanks set to direct it.

Green day a hit with Stourport pupils

STOURPORT pupils dressed in green to raise awareness of eco schools and sustainability.
As part of its green day, the Burlish Park Primary School youngsters also sang recycling songs, with school musicians playing instruments made from recycled materials.

They took part in various green activities throughout the day, including making recycled jewellery, dragons, newspaper plant pots and writing a new eco code for the school.
The day ended with a Fairtrade coffee morning and parents were invited to sample tea, coffee and cakes served and made by year four pupils.

Lynda Williams, eco school co-ordinator, said: “Our pupils had a great day learning about sustainablilty and how this links to eco schools.

“They came up with some fantastic ideas for hats and headbands, promoting various ways in which we can help the environment.

“They were very keen to get involved on the day. Our pupils now have a greater awareness of how they can help reduce the environmental impact of our school and encourage care through all aspects of our school life.”

Green Day, Rihanna to perform at AMAs

Green Day, Rihanna, Shakira, Mary J. Blige and Keith Urban have been booked at the 37th annual American to perform Music Awards gig, ABC said Friday.
The announcement regarding the celebrity lineup was made by dick clark productions President Orly Adelson.
"Each year we try to have a variety of artists and sounds and I think these performers actually showcase the depth of what this show brings to its fans," American Music Awards producer Larry Klein said in a statement.
The artists are to join other previously announced acts including Lady Gaga, Eminem, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, the Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry and Adam Lambert.
Additional performers and presenters for the Nov. 22 prize presentation in Los Angeles will be announced in the coming weeks, ABC said.
The show is to be broadcast live on the network from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE.

Green Day tour announces European concerts, North American venues

American punk rock crew Green Day will take their latest tour overseas after completing a late summer run of the U.S. and Canada. The 26-city trek across Europe kicks off September 28 at Atlantico Pavilion in Lisbon, Portugal, and ends November 12 at Palaolimpico in Turin, Italy.

Green Day will perform a total of 29 shows on the jaunt, playing two-night engagements in England on October 23-24 at the O2 Arena in London, on October 27-28 at the LG Arena in Birmingham and on October 30-31 at MEN Arena in Manchester.

Other stops on the European circuit include an October 4 show at Bercy in Paris, France, an October 12 concert at Spectrum in Oslo, Norway, and a November 3 performance at Olympiahalle in Munich, Germany. The first ticket sales for the currently confirmed European dates begin April 30. The fall trek will be Green Day's first European tour in four years.

The punk rockers announced plans for a 38-city tour of the U.S. and Canada last week and just rolled out venue confirmations for the trek. The North American shows, which kick-off the entire world tour, pick up July 3 at Key Arena in Seattle, WA, and continue through August 25 at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA. Green Day is touring in support of the upcoming May 15 release, "21st Century Breakdown," the band's eighth studio album.
