STOURPORT pupils dressed in green to raise awareness of eco schools and sustainability.As part of its green day, the Burlish Park Primary School youngsters also sang recycling songs, with school musicians playing instruments made from recycled materials.
They took part in various green activities throughout the day, including making recycled jewellery, dragons, newspaper plant pots and writing a new eco code for the school.
The day ended with a Fairtrade coffee morning and parents were invited to sample tea, coffee and cakes served and made by year four pupils.
Lynda Williams, eco school co-ordinator, said: “Our pupils had a great day learning about sustainablilty and how this links to eco schools.
“They came up with some fantastic ideas for hats and headbands, promoting various ways in which we can help the environment.
“They were very keen to get involved on the day. Our pupils now have a greater awareness of how they can help reduce the environmental impact of our school and encourage care through all aspects of our school life.”
